How is Fuel Consumption Calculated?
Fuel consumption calculation uses standard formulas:
- Actual Fuel Efficiency (km/L) = Distance Traveled ÷ Fuel Amount
- Refuel Cost = Fuel Amount × Fuel Price
- Cost Per Km = Fuel Price ÷ Actual Fuel Efficiency
- Monthly Fuel Cost = Monthly Distance × Cost Per Km
- Yearly Fuel Cost = Monthly Fuel Cost × 12
- Difference from Official = (Actual - Official) ÷ Official × 100%
Example: Refuel 40 liters, drove 400 km, fuel price $28.5/L, then actual fuel efficiency = 400 ÷ 40 = 10 km/L, refuel cost = 40 × 28.5 = $1,140, cost per km = 28.5 ÷ 10 = $2.85/km.

Q: Why doesn't the first record show fuel consumption?
Fuel consumption requires "distance between two full tanks" to calculate. The first record only establishes a baseline. The second refueling calculates: Distance = 2nd odometer - 1st odometer, Consumption = Distance ÷ Fuel Amount. At least 2 records needed to see consumption data.
Q: Why is actual consumption worse than official MPG?
Official MPG is measured in ideal laboratory conditions; real-world usage is typically 10-30% lower. Stop-and-go city driving, A/C, load, and driving habits all affect consumption. This is normal.
Q: Can I record partial fills?
Yes, but consumption cannot be calculated. System records your fuel cost but won't include this data in consumption statistics; table will show "Partial Fill" marker. For accurate consumption, always fill up.
Q: Why did my fuel consumption suddenly worsen?
Possible reasons: low tire pressure, worn spark plugs, dirty air filter, carbon buildup, changed driving habits, worse road conditions, increased load. Check tire pressure first; if issue persists, schedule maintenance.
Q: Is my data saved?
